As the global leader in submersible pumps, mixers and accessories, Xylem has been active in the field since the 1940’s when Sixten Englesson invented the first submersible drainage pump.  The company has since grown into a worldwide corporation, operating in over 130 countries. The company’s extensive product offering includes well known brands such as Flygt, Sanitaire, Leopold, Wedeco and Vogel. Xylem has been active throughout southern Africa since 1957 through geographically-exclusive distributors.  In May 1996, a wholly-owned subsidiary was opened in Johannesburg, giving the company a direct presence in the region. 
 

Today Xylem South Africa is responsible for territories across the African continent including Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and DRC. From its offices and service centre in Boksburg, and via a regional distribution network, Xylem is able to offer full technical, design and aftermarket support, as it carries an extensive stock of complete pump units and spare parts. Xylem has the largest submersible rental fleet on the continent with 600 units.  It also has the most diverse rental pump range, encompassing potable, sewage and slurry pumps across four voltage ranges, together with dredging, mixing and turnkey solutions.
